Micka's Rescue

I got a call one cold February night from the owners of Micka, a 3 year old Bengal cat who got outside for the first time ever and ran up a tree. Micka's human dad kept vigil at the base of the tree all night long as temperatures dropped into the teens. With a snow/ice storm scheduled to hit that day they were anxious to get Micka down ASAP. I went out first thing in the morning to help, and as I was setting my climbing rope in the tree, Micka decided to come down on his own! He seemed to be drawn down by the dangling string I was using to pull my climbing line into the tree. The pictures do a great job of capturing everyone's relief at the successful rescue.
